As electric vehicle sales continue to grow — though more slowly than many expected — automotive companies say partnerships are key for making public electric vehicle charging convenient for drivers and profitable for the industry.

GM and EVgo opened their flagship charging station in the parking lot of a Meijer supercenter in Warren, Mich., where EVgo CEO Badar Khan and William Hotchkiss, General Motors’ head of public charging, spoke on a panel for the Automotive Press Association.
