Martin Sukup
Executive Vice President, Engineering
Martin Sukup is the Executive Vice President of Engineering at EVgo, with responsibility for electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) hardware and software, data management, reliability, and quality.
With over 20 years of engineering experience bringing groundbreaking products to market across the globe, Mr. Sukup has an extensive history driving continuous product improvements in highly dynamic emerging markets. He held leadership positions at Tesla in residential product architecture and charging systems where he delivered multiple generations of Supercharger as well as other AC charging and residential energy products. During his time at Tesla, he led the Supercharger evolution to increase charge power and utilize liquid cooled cables, and later drove the process of defining the North American Charging Standard (NACS) to support opening the Supercharger network to non-Tesla vehicles.
Before his tenure at Tesla, Mr. Sukup held a position at Curtiss-Wright leading the inverter and electronics designs for rotary actuators, and previously worked at BAE Systems.
Mr. Sukup received a B.S. and M.S in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
